The Manor

The Manor, located in the long established Friends’ Colony neighbourhood, has eighteen rooms, each with a distinct character and layout. Studio u+a converted the 1950’s two star guesthouse into a deluxe hotel of understated elegance. The contemporary design is complemented by rich local materials including silks, hand knotted carpets and inlaid mosaic flooring. The Manor was one of the first to be listed in the Conde Nast publication, “Top Hotels in India.”

Twenty years since the unveiling of Studio u+a’s widely acclaimed design, The Manor has been revisited, refreshed, upgraded and expanded while maintaining the character and spirit of the original.

Within the existing two storey facility, all Guest Rooms, the Lobby, common areas, back of house and the In Q Restaurant, with its expanded kitchens, have been reinvigorated. A newly acquired adjoining three storey block features the ground floor Café Noci, Outdoor Dining space, an Art Gallery and a Retail Boutique. A first floor Gymnasium and Isaac treatment centre, and an upper level Kairali Ayurvedic Spa complete the block.

The two buildings form an L, embracing the refreshed Gardens. The entire composition is linked to the formal Entry Forecourt with a new wood pergola.
